SWAT Tackling Instructional Video and eBook
I banned shoulder tackling in 1985 because it is ineffective and unsafe. Using the head and shoulder for initial contact leaves the tackler in a position of weakness, not to mention at risk of catastrophic injury. I have proven that there’s a better way. In 30 years, none of my players have died, broken or injured their necks, and I’ve had ZERO reported concussions on Defense.
My SWAT chest tackle is based on the two most powerful exercises known to wo/mankind – squat & bench press. By using the chest for the initial impact, strength is transferred from lower to upper body ensuring the head and shoulder are eliminated from the tackle – regardless of the angle of pursuit. The SWAT chest tackle is a joyful expression of strength that is built in the weight room and expressed on the field. It is guaranteed to lift.
More important than Xs and Os is ensuring your players’ safety. Safety should always trump winning games. The benefit of teaching SWAT chest tackling is that you can accomplish both! By purchasing the SWAT Tackling video and eBook, you will be able to teach players, of any age, how to tackle safely. Coach Arcaro narrates the skills required from start to finish as they are demonstrated, live. Teaching methods and lesson outcomes are detailed in the accompanying eBook.
Make your next season the best it can be:

The SWAT No-huddle Offense is a system designed to make elite athletes.. from scratch. It is the most unique offensive system you’ll ever learn because it has limitless passing but NO conventional playbook. And, it has worked on both sides of the border for three decades – it can be implemented in the Canadian or the US game.
How does it work? By connecting partial concepts that can build any formation, any pass play, and any running play to fit the situation at the line of scrimmage therefore completely eliminating the need for a conventional playbook that has to be memorized. Memorization is replaced by translation of a “language” – SWAT Language
I designed the SWAT Offense as a solution to a nightmarish reality of limitations – the most extreme adversity imaginable – playing in poverty. Poor talent, poor resources including cow pastures for practice fields, a one-man coaching staff, and never a junior varsity team or feeder system. On top of it all, out-matched opponents… we willingly sought out. David constantly calling out Goliath. None of my teams had a winning culture when I became head coach. Each team was either stuck in a losing culture or was brand new… start-up teams without a winning tradition. All six of my teams have transformed form losers to winners. Every transformation started in the weight room, worked its way to on-field conditioning, and then to our paperless, limitless system that stresses only one concept – relentless pressure.
Another unique feature of my system is the offense-defense connection. My SWAT Offense is connected to my SWAT Defense. Two reasons: (i) only one coach to teach both sides of the ball, and; (ii) our need for two-way player depth, including our second stringers. Every player must learn a least one other position in order to build an effective depth chart. For example: a partial passing concept used in our base stretch-pass called, the “high-low cross” also serves as a “high-low blitz bind.” Our defense blitzes offenses from extremely unconventional formations. Our offense blitzes defenses.
The benefit of my philosophy is obvious in the advancement of Point-Zero players to the next-level… developing players from scratch who get recruited to post-secondary and beyond. It works. #WeWinRings. During my 40-season coaching career, my SWAT system has developed over 200 players who were recruited to the next-level.
